RESULTS

The chase is on

With so many new runners our regulars were having to keep up the chase and put on the speed. Misty the Border Collie who is doing so well and taking first place at many of the events was determined that Cannock wasn't going to be any different with a great time of 26:05 in the Male category. Our new runner Celt, a Weimeraner the size of a horse did a blinding speed in the VM class, pulling his team mate across the finish line in a time of 22:01 looking decidedly fresh and sprightly and up for more. In the Have-a-Go class we saw two first time Siberian Huskies Shunu and Ishka taking first place in a time of 12:18 and 12:55.

It was once again a great day out, this time with no rain and temperatures at a perfect 6 degrees. We trialed a new timing system allowing runners to see their time as they crossed the finish line — and would like to thank HSSports for attending.

The course was truly beautiful. It had a full range of softness underfoot, a river crossing, a tree climb (not literally) 1,000 trees came down the previous week in the gale force winds, resulting in a couple of detours making for interesting and fun diversions. We had lakes to run around, hills to climb and descend and the terrain underfoot was great for paws and bouncy for trainers.

The North Face came on board, not only with sponsorship but enforce and helped all day with erecting and pulling down banners and 4x4s to move marshals around. We are all most grateful for the huge effort they all put in. The North Face have confirmed sponsorship for the remaining three events of the season.

Our next event is Westonbirt (Sunday 18 Feb 2007) with a great course though Silkwood. The event coincides with Westonbirt's Dog Days Weekend (17+18 Feb 2007)— a 2 day dog show including Scrufts, gun dog trials, trade stands and more...

See you all there.
