At this event we were very fortunate to have Roxy Wright-Champaine from Alaska who has run the Iditarod a number of times. Roxy presented the special red lantern trophy to Nicci Cockburn.

During the days of Alaskan sled dog freighting the red lantern signified that a team was somewhere out on the trail. The lamp was not extinguished until the last team safely reached their destination.
