Cani-cross specialised gear Running harness for your dog Maximum comfort. The running harness directs all pulling force to the shoulders and chest (away from the neck), hugging the body without restricting lung capacity or leg movement. The X-back harness is the most widely used, so called because of the X pattern of the webbing over the dogs back. Harnesses are made from 1" nylon webbing with fleece/foam padding for the neck and chest. CaniX UK has 16 sizes of standard harness to fit most. Running waist belt for you. Wearing a waist belt, to which you attach your dog, will free your arms to help with your running motion. People who run with their dogs using hand held leads often complain of arm, shoulder, neck and back ache. For those with dogs that pull, the encouragement from your team mate up front can feel like jet pro-pull-sion! The belt should be padded, wide enough not to cut into your back and incorporate an element of bungee. This will absorb the jerking, pulling force of your dog, giving both you and your dog a more enjoyable run. The belt should sit comfortably on your hips and not ride up and down as this creates lower back ache. For safety, it is a good idea to have a quick release fitted in case you need to release the line in an emergency. Cani-Cross line. Designed to be used with a waist belt. At one end a loop connects to the belt, at the other a snap attaches to the dogs harness. These lines also incorporate an element of bungee to absorb the jerking, pulling forces. If your dog needs to be brought close to you, an additional hand loop is provided (handy for crossing roads or in traffic). Line length should be between 1.5m (5') to 2m (6'6"). Also available: |
