Exeter Racecourse is set in the middle of Harcombe Forest. Both adult 5k and junior 2k courses stay within the perimeter of the racecourse. It has a fantastic start and finish shoot. There is camping at the venue (book via The Caravan Club Exeter Racecourse Site T: 01392 832107 - accepts tents, non-members welcome) and a great service station run by a local family for breakfast, lunch and dinner 5mins by road just outside the racecourse. For those camping, the racecourse is great for dogs who can loose themselves bouncing in and out the gorse bushes and scrub that fill most of the ground in the middle of the course. Haldon Forest and visitor centre is just down the road great for dog walks with forest cafe.

Directions

At the end of the M5 follow signs for A38 Plymouth and Exeter Racecourse.

After the A38/A380 split, continue on the A38 up a hill (still following signs for Plymouth and Exeter Racecourse). At the brow of this hill take the sharp left, sign posted Exeter Racecourse. Immediately of the A38 turn right at the roundabout, then immediately left into Exeter Racecourse. In the racecorse take the first left into the main parking (do not drive behind the grandstand otherwise you will get mixed up with the car boot traffic).
